About the Artist…

elly Workun remembers writing poems and making art with her friends as a child. Sometimes they would create clay pieces, other times they'd draw or use water colors.

When Kelly entered high school in Bellevue, Washington, she took art as  electives for three years. These classes involved drawing, painting batik, pottery and  jewelry. "I loved to go to the art room  and escape in the creativity"

In college Kelly took a coarse on stained glass making. "It was exiting to make our own designs, cut the glass, and make an original piece."

"Art has always been
Something I've enjoyed very much. The
expressions through art offer life such a variety to our insights. Colors and rich textures flow in creation, as in life"

More than anything, art has been a labor of love to me. I have sold many paintings through out the years. And that is the part I like best. Sharing work and ones own expression represents to me what life should be about- the wonderment of creation and being able to share that with the world.

After the birth of  my daughter Desiree, I began painting more and more. I started with acrylics and then went on to water colors.
I enjoy painting abstracts and impressionist work. Many times I do not plan on what I am going to paint. I simply flow with the paints and let whatever is in me come out. Sometimes I develop  a theme in nature possibly another type of image.

As of late I have been working with oil pastel.
Around twenty-five pieces of my work are in private collection. Represented in this line are tissue paper abstracts, oil pastel, acrylic, transparent watercolor, and watercolors.
